Many of our current suppliers, such as Rachael Ray Nutrish and Zukes, donate all or a portion of their profits back to non-profit animal rescue groups. Patsy’s is very supportive of the local animal rescue groups and shelters in our area. After all, if it hadn’t been for a group such as these, Patsy would not have enriched our lives!
We hold monthly adoption days in our store for various rescue groups to showcase their homeless, adoptable pets. The adoption dates will be posted in our store or you may contact us via email info@patsyspetstop.com or phone for further details. We also hold monthly pet food drives for these rescue groups. Many times it’s not just the shelter animals that need food, but pet owners in the community that, due to unfortunate hardships, can no longer feed their pets.Providing the food drives will help those less fortunate.
From time to time we will be offering educational seminars on nutrition, training and ‘meet the vendors’ days.If you’d like to be kept updated on these events, please join our mailing/email list.
If your rescue group would like to showcase your pets at our store for an adoption day, please contact us via email (info@patsyspetstop.com) or use the customer contact form under 'contact us'. Show crates for your felines will be provided. An area in our store will be designated for your canines. Please call Debbie or Robert to discuss further.
Sonic and Nikko
Sonic and Nikko
8 week old, male, Long Hair, White/black
These two almost identical long haired white/black brothers were found on the hottest day this year by a contractor. They were real sick and dehydrated. An hour longer and they would have died.We were afraid we would lose Sonic the first night because he was blind and much sicker than his brother.
After a trip to the vet it has been determined that Nikko will be fine, with minimal eye damage from infection. Sonic, however, will not fair so well. He will be blind the rest of his life or will only see faint shadows. He will need to have at least one eye removed and surgery to remove dead tissue from the other.
Because of the huge medical expenses we are asking for donations towards their vet care and surgery when Sonic is healthy enough. They have been tested negative for FELV/FIV/HW. The estimate for Sonic's surgery and after care will be $700-$1000.
We are also seeking immediate foster care or a permanent home that will keep these two handsome boys together forever! Nikko, sticks pretty close to Sonic being Sonic's 'eyes' and helping him find his way. These boys are sweet and certainly have shown how thankful they are that they got a second chance at life! NOW WE JUST NEED YOUR HELP!

THANK YOU…and keep checking back for updates on their progress!
UPDATE ON THE BOYS....SONIC AND NIKKO... 7/28/10...Sonic has been getting eye drops 3 times a day for a week now and the swelling and inflamation has subsided considerably. After the swelling went down, we noticed that his right eye was not as good as we expected. His bottom eyelid is 'curling' inside, his top lid is actually stuck to his cornea (from birth). This will be delicate surgery to save what we can with this eye. He seems to have slight vision in that eye as well. Perhaps it can be saved. $263.00 RAISED SO FAR.
7/30/10...WELL low and behold...the man that found the boys has also found one more kitten, a brother, and was able to trap mom. The mom is in real bad shape with wounds all over her body that don't look good. She looks just like Sonic and Nikko. Will post pictures soon. Surgery for mom tomorrow to get her spayed.
8/1/10...Poor mom...she was pregnant AGAIN (5-7 yrs old!) and the babies were still-born about a week already inside her. Her wounds have been shaved up, cleaned, she's spayed and resting comfortably. Her son (third kitten) Tyson is doing great. A little scared at first, but after some food, soft talking too and attention, he is a HUGE purrr-box! He is deflead, vetted and ready to be with his brothers. Unfortunately, because Sonic can't see, he keeps hissing at Tyson and trying to swat him. We'll leave them separated for a few days, and intergrate them during 'play time' each day. $353.00 raised for surgery to date!
8/8/10...Well, 'the boys' are doing real well. Sonic has reached the pound weight required for surgery. Now it's just a matter of raising enough money! Tyson has settled in with his brothers and tends to be a little bit of a bully with 'the blind kid'. But Nikko usually steps in (or should I say jumps in) to save his poor brother. Sonic's eyes are looking better with most of the swelling down. He certainly feels better, it's just a little unpleasant to look at! Their mom, (we call her Lucy) is anxious to go back to her outside living. It was touch and go with her for a few days because she got conjested and we suspected perhaps an upper respiratory due to all the trauma her body went through. She is, however, feeling much better and we will most likely release her back outside in a couple days. WE'RE ALMOST AT THE HALF WAY POINT FINANCIALLY--$425.43 raised so far. PLEEZZZ help us reach our goal quickly so the surgery can be done!
8/14/10...Sonic went to the vets today for his final check up. He is 2.13 pounds and scheduled for surgery this monday, 8/16/10. We have to have him at the hospital at 1130am. PLEASE ALL...we don't have the money raised, but even your prayers will help. We are hoping for at least a small amount of vision of some sort in one eye. His energy, personality, and willingness to go with whatever is given him is fantastic! Still haven't found foster care for them. Had an interview with the Wayne Today paper so maybe you'll see them in the news next Thursday. The three of them, Nikko, Sonic and Tyson are best of friends and brothers. Would there be any hope of a family taking all three? We can only pray.....will get some pictures of Tyson posted as soon as his crazy self settles down a little bit. He's a pistol of fun. Thanks to all those who are praying and donating ... we really DO appreciate you! More on Monday...
8/16/10...TODAY'S THE DAY...Sonic is in surgery as I type this. Donations raised so far: $621.51. 8/16/10...330pm...the first step of Sonic's surgery (fixing the bottom eyelid so it doesn't roll in and under anymore) is complete. They are heading into the upper eyelid surgery, but had to stop for a few minutes when his vital signs changed. More later....
8/17/10...Spoke to the doctor at 9pm last evening...both eyes had corrective surgery! It was long, delicate and tedious but he came through it all really great. Once out of the anesthsia, he was trying to climb the sides of the stainless steel cage, so they put him back in his carrying case and he calmed down. They offered him food and he ate. Once the swelling goes down, we'll be able to tell more if he'll have any vision. He's optimistic about his recovery, but not about having vision. I will go to see Sonic later this afternoon. Many many heartfelt thanks to all who are following this poor boys story and offering donations and prayers. We BOTH appreciate all you support and kindness.
8/17/10...4:45pm...Sonic and I just got home from the hospital. He looks great, but was most happy to 'see' me. I am looking into his 'eyes' for the first time. All these weeks of just looking at swollen eye lids. While there is no hint that he has vision, he certainly responded to my scent and voice immediately. "TAKE ME HOME, MOM" is what he was screaming. So, it went as well as can be expected for the first surgery. Until his check up on Thursday, I have to put 2 different drops in his eyes, keep him separate from the other two, and make sure he eats. On thursday, if enough swelling has gone down, the doctor will evaluate and see if a second surgery will be required. He is pretty sure it will be, but Sonic needs a week or two between them. All in all, it's a good report. Not great, but as good as can be expected. Sonic is a survivor and will adapt either way. I am just hoping that someone will want these three boys and love them forever. They've been through so much. OH--and the mom...she was released back into her enviroment yesterday and has been seen and is doing fine. Thanks again for all your love, support and compassion.
08/18/10...oh happy day! Sonic is dong great this morning. He's been reunited with his two brothers, and was overjoyed to see them. They all hugged, snuggled and play-wrestled (lightly) for 10 minutes! Sonic received eye drops and eye ointment throughout the night, ever 3 hours. This is in an effort to shrink the swelling and keep the eyes lubricated so they don't close. It was a long night, but Sonic is doing much better this moring. After a gentle eye cleaning, medication, drops, ointment, he was ready to go eat breakfast and play with his brothers. Post-op visit on thursday....
08/21/10...Post op visit was postponed until today. After an extensive exam, the Doctor has decided that Sonic needs another surgery on his right eye because some tissue has grown back. It is scheduled for Monday, 08/23/10. A second surgery was expected, but this seems as if it will be in addition to what he had wanted to do further down the road. While the drops and salve are working well, the progress is not as we had hoped. There is some slight hope that there is some vision in the right eye. If there is not, Sonic sure has us all fooled. He plays, wrestles, chases flies and toys, and seems to be somewhat sighted. He does bump into his brothers and objects quite frequently. Perhaps the second surgery will do the trick. Donations are just about at a stand still. The amount raised to date is $673.00. PLEASE consider clicking on the paypal link above and help us to help Sonic. Sue Toth from the Passaic Valley Today newspaper did a story on the boys and their mom which was in the thursday, 8/19/10 paper. It was a fabulous article and I can't thank her enough. Trying to find ways to raise a few more bucks, maybe a garage sale, ??
Sonic's first day with us, 7 weeks old
After 2 weeks on eye medication, things are looking better
17aug10--1 of 2 surgeries. Looking better. Still not sure if there is or ever will be vision.

There are several felines at our store that are looking for a forever home. Please stop by and visit them at MONSTERS PLAY PEN in the rear of the store if you are interested in adopting. An adoption fee is required, a pre-adoption application will be available for you to complete which is the first step in our adoption process. All of the felines in the play pen have been altered, fully vaccinated, tested negative for FELV/FIV and microchipped.
If you are interested in any of these pets, please take the first step and complete the pre-adoption application form below. After our review, we will contact you to discuss further.
"CANDY" Female, 4-5 yrs old, spayed
There's a reason why we call this little girl "Candy". She is sooo sweet, affectionate and desparately needs your love! Candy was abandoned in an apartment when her owners moved. She is gentle, quiet and a real snuggle-bug and lap cat! She is all good, with a wonderful personality that adjusts to just about any situation without alarm. Candy is starved for love as she misses the interaction of humans. She would do best as an 'only child' or one other cat her age and children would be ok also. Please right the wrong done by her previous owners and restore her faith in love by giving her the forever home she so deserves. You can see it in her eyes...she's waiting for YOU! This cat is FELV/FIV/HW tested negative, altered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and Frontlined for fleas. If you are interested in meeting this pet please take the first step and access our pre-adoption application, which can be located at www.patsyspetstop.com, click on the "Adoptions" tab and complete our online pre-adoption application at the bottom of the page. If you have questions please email us at patsyspetresq@aol.comPlease remember—out of state adoptions require additional time to process; you must be 21 years or older to adopt; an application does not guarantee an adoption; once applications are approved an appointment can be made to meet the pet; not all animals on our website come to all adoption days.
Candy, Female, 4yrs old, grey/white
YES MY HEAD IS A NORMAL SIZE... I just enjoy getting right in the lens of the camera!!
"Joey" 1.5yrs old, male, dsh, HANDSOME DUDE!
Joey is sad because his owner lied to him! His family decided to dumped him at a pet store saying he was a stray in their backyard. The neighbors, however, told us quite a different story! He was owned, living inside and had a collar at one time by the very same people that dumped him! The neighbor told us the family 'got rid of the cat' because he was urinating in their house. He was actually spraying because he wasn't neutered. At just a year old, poor Joey was sent on his way instead of just having him altered and keeping their pet. He is an adorable, friendly boy with absolutely no potty issues! He's extremely agile and playful, curious, and tends to get into stuff, but that just gives you more reasons to love him! He would be a wonderful addition to anyone who's looking for an entertaining feline that never holds back! He was emotionally scared by being dumped by the only family he ever knew, so please...renew Joey's faith in humans...please offer him a REAL forever home! (children 13 or over are fine, but other cats may not be a good idea..he likes to be your center of attraction!) This cat is FELV/FIV tested negative, altered, microchipped, vaccinated and has been wormed and Frontlined for fleas. This cat is FELV/FIV/HW tested negative, altered, microchipped, vaccinated and has been wormed and Frontlined for fleas. OK, so this is the 'money shot'...or so Joey thinks!!
Lenny
THESE THREE SWEETHEARTS ARE SIBLINGS...LENNY, TAFFY AND TAYLOR are 5 months old, altered, vaccinated, tested FELV/FIV negative and microchipped.
Lenny, the only boy, has a handsome look. His wonderful tiger markings makes him a real beauty. He's happy, fun and playful. He would do best with one of his siblings or other cats to play with.
Taffy, the calico, is sweet, but can be a little timid. She really loves the company of her siblings, so another cat would be a must for her. She does not really like to be picked up, but that's because she hasn't had much of that. She will take a few extra days to adjust, but will warm up given the chance.
Taylor is Lenny's twin sister. They are very hard to tell apart, and would make a great set of "bookends"! Taylor would also do best with one of her siblings, or another cat to play with. She is quiet, gentle and somewhat shy. A few extra days of love and attention and she'll be fine in her new home.
If you are interested in this pet, please take the first step and complete our pre-adoption application located at www.patsyspetstop.com, click on 'adoption' and submit the form.
